On June 9th, the Government of Alberta announced that Stage 2 of the provinces reopening may begin on Friday, June 12th including recreation facilities such as pools, field houses, arenas, gyms and gymnasiums.

With careful consideration and compliance to the health restrictions the CKC Management Team is executing a phased re-opening of amenities at the Community Knowledge Campus including Coca Cola Centre, Eastlink Centre, Synthetic Turf, and the Grande Prairie Outdoor Pool. This means the doors to these facilities will not be set to re-open on June 12.

It is imperative that the priority remains the safety and well being of our guests and staff. In regular operation the Eastlink Centre and Coca Cola Centre typically see numbers of over 3000 people per day. The popularity of the facilities and the services offered now require even closer monitoring and controls, which require very specific and strategic planning.

Part of this plan includes the re-hiring and re-training of staff to ensure we are fully equipped to handle all of the adjustments, so we can confidently welcome members back to a safe and healthy environment.

As we finalize our preparations, we appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding and look forward with great enthusiasm to announcing a re-opening dates and welcoming you through our doors once again.
